How to hire

You don’t need to be a member of The Cotswold Hat Club to hire from us. We do thousands of one-off hires every year.

But if you have 4 or more occasions in a year that require a headpiece, membership is a brilliantly economical way to hire hats, headbands and fascinators.

The Cotswold Hat Club studio is open by appointment only in Stow on the Wold. If you’d like to visit to try on some hats, message us via WhatsApp to book. Appointments are flexible - just tell us what days/ times suit you when you message us. Make sure you bring your outfit(s) with you - choosing a headpiece first isn’t recommended.

Hire online

Can’t get to our studio in Stow? No problem. We hire hundreds of headpieces every year to ladies all over the country who can’t get to us for an appointment and it’s highly successful. If you’re confident in choosing a piece yourself, browse our collection to select your perfect piece. Message us via WhatsApp before you hire online to make sure your chosen piece is available for the dates you need it.

Before you order online, you can ask us for advice about the best headpiece to complement your look. Send a photo of your outfit (by email or WhatsApp) with a few details:

  • date(s) you need a headpiece

  • type of event you’re attending

  • any preferences (for example: colour, large, small, modern, floral etc)

  • any other relevant details

We’ll send back some options for you to consider. We set them out like this (see image) so you can see how a few different headpieces will work with your look. Then you can discuss it with us to find you the perfect piece.

Ask us for help

If we’re concerned about matching a tricky colour and you’re not able to get to our studio, you can even send us your outfit (or part of it!) to make sure we get the perfect hat match.

All styling advice is free of charge. We’re very experienced in event fashion and we love to help you feel fabulous - make the most of our know-how!

Receive your hat

You can collect your headpiece by prior arrangement from our studio in Stow on the Wold, or we can post it to you.  

For all our deliveries, we use Royal Mail Special Delivery, guaranteed to arrive the next day by 1pm. When we’ve posted your headpiece, we send you the tracking number.

We prefer to use WhatsApp but if that isn’t an app you use, no problem. Simply send a text, email or Instagram DM and we’ll be in touch as soon as we can.

Our hire period covers 5 to 7 days. We know it’s important to try on your entire outfit before an event so we aim to get your headpiece to you at least a couple of days before your event. For example, if the event is over a weekend, your piece should arrive by Wednesday.

In a last minute panic? Don’t worry - next day delivery is usually available. Send us an SOS message via WhatsApp and we’ll do our best to help.

After your event, post back the headpiece as soon as possible. For example, for a weekend events, post it on Monday. Make sure you keep the proof of postage until the piece has landed safely back with us.

If you need a headpiece for longer than the hire period, let us know. For one or two days extra, this might not necessarily incur an extra charge - but do make sure you ask.

Going to Royal Ascot?

Royal Ascot is wildly busy for us. As soon as you have your outfit, we highly recommend you get in touch with us to look at options and book your headpiece.

If you’ve left it to the very last minute, don’t worry. Get in contact, there’s always something. And Royal Mail do a pre-9am delivery service!

Our hire period may be shorter during Royal Ascot week and all hats must be returned by Wednesday of the following week.
