How hat hire works

First time hiring fashion? Good choice, it's a great value, sustainable option. 

Here's the process step by step. If there's anything you're unsure of just get in touch.

Step 1

Find the perfect headpiece

Our entire collection is available to browse online. You can choose UK delivery (by Royal Mail Special Delivery) or collect in person from our studio in St Albans.

We offer complimentary expert styling advice (either remotely or in person), so if you're not sure what will go with your outfit or what to choose for a particular event, feel free to get in touch or book an appointment at our St Albans studio.

Step 2

Book your hire dates

Use the calendar on every hat page to check availability and book.

Start Date:

  • The hat will arrive on or before the start date of the booking, so make this at least 1 day before the event.
  • All items are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery so will need to be signed for - please bear this in mind when selecting your shipping address.

Return Date:

  • The hat must be in the post on or before the return date. If the return date is a Sunday you should send the hat back on the Saturday or Monday using a tracked next day Royal Mail service. 
  • If collecting in person, you will typically be able to collect 1-3 days prior to the Start Date depending on other rentals. Get in touch to make your collection appointment.

Deposit:

  • A £50 deposit is included with every order. This is refunded within 24 hours of the hat arriving back to us in good condition. 
Step 3

Take delivery

All hats are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery (Guaranteed by 1pm) and will need to be signed for. We will email you the tracking code once the item has shipped.

If you are not at home when delivery is attempted then you will need to request redelivery or visit your local sorting office - something that needs to be arranged with Royal Mail directly.

Step 4

Enjoy your event

If you have any questions about how to wear the hat don't be afraid to get in touch. Typically the way the mannequin is wearing it on this website is how it should be on your head. Your hat will come with instructions on how to protect your hat from damage. 

Don't forget to let everyone know where you rented your fabulous hat from (we drop business cards in with every order if you want to share the word!)

Step 5

Get it back to us

Carefully re-package your hat in its box, reusing the tissue paper to help keep it from being damaged.

Stick on the address label - You will have received one with the hat but don’t worry if you’ve lost it - the address is:

Put it in the post - please use a tracked Royal Mail service (we recommend Special Delivery to ensure fast and insured return). Make sure you keep proof of postage.

Alternatively get in touch to agree the date and time you'll drop it back to the shop.

What if I damage the hat?

Your deposit covers minor repairs but not a full replacement. If the worst happens and your hat is badly damaged, lost or stolen let us know as soon as you can and we'll do our best to keep extra costs to a minimum.

Please don’t attempt to repair or clean the hat yourself.
